FAQs
Rose City Philanthropy provides membership and fundraising program assessment and planning, capital campaign planning, grant research and grant writing, board development services and executive search and interim talent placement.
We partner with nonprofit and government organizations to create campaigns that fund construction and renovation, programs and services, endowment, and general operating needs. We also provide recruitment, interim support, grant writing, and collateral development to support the campaigns we work on.
Many of our clients strive to diversify their board and staff and apply an equity lens to all aspects of their work. We seek to understand your organization’s unique contribution to the community and stage of development and tailor our process to your needs. We meet organizations where they are and lead them through a customized process that models equitable practices and how to operationalize them.
We emphasize clear roles, leadership responsibilities, and effective governance. Our signature teamwork training is grounded in the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team and our own experience serving as board members and volunteers in our community.
We have deep experience in braiding public funds with private philanthropy. As part of our campaign design, we develop awareness campaigns and tools to promote inclusion and sustainable community engagement. We provide prospect research, list building, feasibility studies, campaign planning and management for cities, special districts, park and recreation departments, and nonprofit organizations.
We'll analyze previous fundraising data or conduct a feasibility study if you’re considering a major campaign. We set fundraising goals that define the amount of revenue your organization needs to raise for a specific initiative or throughout the year and factors in the need for precious, unrestricted funds. We'll assess your team's capacity to meet those goals and your donor's capacity to fund ambitious initiatives, and create a plan that works for everyone.
Once a contract is signed, you'll be assigned a project team. For projects with a timeline of more than three months, we deliver a detailed project schedule within two weeks of contract signing. Our first step is discovery. We'll request documents for review, schedule a regular meeting time, and may schedule a site visit.
This depends on the service we provide. Grant plans can be delivered in as little as thirty days. Fundraising assessment and planning and executive search services typically take approximately three months. Campaign planning and counsel requires a minimum six month engagement period. The duration of your contract will be determined at contract signing. Regardless of how long your project takes, your price will always be a set price, not to exceed. We never bill by the hour so you can budget with confidence.
