Kris Anderson Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts

We were so grateful for the opportunity to work with Rose City Philanthropy and the wonderful Lara Miller for our Executive Director search. Lara really went above and beyond to educate us about, support us through, and steer the entire process to a successful conclusion. She took great care to get to know our community members and understand our [Native-led, Native-serving] organization's needs and cultural context, including through visits and a generous and delightful appearance at our summer fundraiser. She also clearly loved learning more about our work, an enthusiasm that she conveyed in her conversations with prospective applicants. As a small-budgeted organization in a rural region, we faced some significant hiring barriers, particularly in such a tight job market, but Lara was patient, reassuring, and strategic. We ended up with a short-list of compelling candidates, and Lara helped us negotiate the interview process equitably and efficiently. Finally, and perhaps best of all, she helped guide us through onboarding our new Executive Director, ensuring that everyone felt supported, heard, and set up for success. Big thanks to Lara and the Rose City Philanthropy team!

Lara and Jeri both have amazing insights and wisdom.  They act like an ‘affirmational sounding board’ while also giving critical feedback.

Rose City Philanthropy left us with recommendations that are actionable and take our strengths and opportunities into consideration while keeping in mind our need to use our limited resources strategically.
